The listening and analysis for MUSC
525 falls into the following 5 categories: 1. Musical Examples, 2.
Model Analyses, 3. Guided Analyses, 4. Digital Anthology, and 5.
Analytical Videos. I have created a page for each category that

Analyses. The model analyses provide in-depth
applications of the theoretical concepts introduced in each
chapter.

Links to recordings and analytical media for the Straus 4/e Guided
Analyses. New to the fourth edition of the book, the Guided
Analyses engage extended musical passages through a set
of analytical prompts. They are designed to be starting points
for analytical discussions and student projects.

The Art of Post-Tonal Analysis by Joseph N. Straus
presents 33 graphic music analyses in print and video formats.
The analyses apply the analytical techniques introduced in our
textbook (Straus 2016) to a
diverse array of post-tonal music literature. These videos are
now available on the author's Analyzing
Modernist Music YouTube Channel. They are also available
on the book's Companion
Website. They are simply amazing! I also recommend
checking out the 126 analytical videos for Straus's book Broken
Beauty: Musical Modernism and the Representation of
Disability (Straus 2018).
